What this is

Thursday night, played properly.

The Key Sessions brings original artists to The Cross Keys every Thursday: an intimate, free-entry evening built around good songs, attentive audiences and properly cared-for sound.

Musician and live sound engineer David Elf hosts the night and looks after the production, giving performers the space to do what they do, and audiences the chance to hear it properly.

The sound of the room

Taken seriously, so you don’t have to think about it.

Every session is mixed for the artist, the music, the room and the people in it: clear, balanced and true to the performance.

Technical information for artists (and nerds)

The house PA combines a Midas digital mixing console and Crown amplification with OHM 12-inch tops and 15-inch subs.

Two independent monitor mixes feed a pair of OHM 12-inch wedges. Shure SM58 vocal microphones, stands, cables and the usual stage essentials are provided.

Specific input, stage and monitoring requirements are agreed with each artist before their appearance.
